Xonotic custom maps2/20/2023 ![]() ![]() You could do this with a human player or just some bots. Whatever of these options work for you so long as you don't digest your prey.Ģ: Make sure that the prey in question is completely underwater and thus can drown.ģ: Devour said prey while they're still underwater and then return to dry land.Ĥ: Despite being away from the water the prey should eventually start taking damage regardless as if drowning and, when their death message appears, it should show their cause of death being drowning. If it isn't you can always stop digesting your prey at the press of a key, either that or eat an ally. It's not a serious glitch but it's something of interest, so think of this as a fun vorish experiment! :)ġ: Make sure that auto-digest is off. I'm actually curious if you're able to replicate it yourself so I'll leave a few little steps as to what I did to trigger it. I can still very easily create the drowning glitch though. I'm starting to wonder if it were a "me" issue, after all I did change some of the cvars around in the original Xonotic before I added Vore Tournament on top of it so that might have caused an issue. so I probably wouldn't worry too much about those two for the time being. Well I've spent more time playing around with VT and much to my own surprise I can't actually replicate both the loading bots crash glitch and the teleporting back to original spot of being eaten glitch. Don't suppose there's a way to send bug reports or something similar when needed? It's a bit tricky for things like the water glitch, but for game crashes it'd be pretty handy. Sorry for the wall of text, but thought I'd mention these things, especially the bug with loading bots into a game that doesn't start with bots just in case. If I were to guess it's probably something to do with external assets (aka vore tournament) since doing this in vanilla Xonotic doesn't crash the game. I tested this a few times and I'm able to get a consistent crash by repeating the same actions so that may be something to look into. not if you didn't include any bots at the start of a game. ![]() You can remove bots during a match and bring them back without problems so long as they existed at the start of a game, just. If you plan on playing around with bots make sure you load them in when you start a game and not during a game that started without bots because it kinda breaks the game shortly after. I think I know why this happens though, isn't it because the prey character doesn't actually follow the inside of a pred character? I mean, if you're eaten and digested and eventually "ejected" from your predator you actually jump back to where you were originally eaten. I was experimenting with what the AI can do with its various cvars/settings and discovered this by accident. or, you know, both if you're feeling mean. XDĪn example, if you end up getting eaten while submerged in water, you'll actually take damage from drowning, not from digesting. I've played around with the game enough to discover a few that may not be "intentional" bugs. minus a few bugs here and there of course but that's to be expected since this isn't a final release. Your support is what made the project possible thus far, and what will make future plans as well as similar game projects happen! Keep VT as well as other games and animations going at:įair enough. If you want to enjoy yourself to a fun little video before giving it a try, here's the official release clip I put together last week, which briefly shows footage from both the old and new game:Īs always, if you like Vore Tournament and wish to support it, consider doing so on my Patreon. Example: "xonotic.exe -customgamedirname2 data_voretournament". For convenience I will list them here as well:ġ - Download and install the latest version of Xonotic from You might want to try a vanilla game first, to make sure the base game is working properly.Ģ - Download the archive of the latest Vore Tournament release from this repository using the download button provided.ģ - Unpack this archive inside the base Xonotic directory, so that the "data_voretournament-*" directory is sitting next to the "data" directory.Ĥ - Rename "data_voretournament-*" to "data_voretournament", deleting the extra names and numbers from the directory name.ĥ - Launch the Xonotic executable with the parameters "-customgamedirname2 data_voretournament" from the command prompt or a modified shortcut. Installation instructions are located in the data_voretournament repository. The release can be downloaded from Gitlab, and ran using the latest official version of Xonotic. You made this happen!
